I checked out Abelardo Morell's site today, so I'm biting his subject matter and taking pictures of money...

Versailles (best bike ride ever...)
We went to Versailles today...palace was whatever, but then we rented bikes and cruised around the grounds, totally getting lost on little dirt paths through rows of beautiful trees...was one of the coolest bike rides ever. Lots of pix below, many of rows of trees, but there was a lot of that, and it was cool...
Metro in Paris in the morning, on our way to catch the train to Versailles...
Graffiti on a mirror in the Hall of Mirrors (where the Treaty of Versailles was signed), nice...
Cool ceiling in the palace at Versailles...
Hallway at Versailles...
Gardens just outside the palace...
Spring blossoms...must be all the impressionists I saw yesterday at the Musee D'Orsay, but I went for the f3.5 thing here...
More of same...
More of same, this time with Andrea...
More of same...
Fountains and some sort of collonade...
Row of trees, in case you couldn't make that out for yourself...
Cool blooming willow tree...
Andrea cruising...all the pix of Andrea riding I took from my bike while riding, good thing my camera is easy to use...
Pulling off a pathway to snoop around...most of the tourists (and there were BAJILLIONS of them) stick to the palace, so when you get out to the grounds there's no one around. Most of the time we were aaallllll alone to wander through the paths.
Landscape (I believe the French word is Paysage...I'm so fancy)
Paysage #deux...
Two of many paths to choose from during our velo jaunt...
And again...
Train on the way home...RER, its like the Metro North for Paris...

ArtFest 2006
Andrea and I did the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay today...a lot for one day, but we tried to pick our spots within each...
Teeny little Andrea on the right side of the fountain...this is walking through the back courtyard of the Louvre...the place goes on for miles.
Winged victory (Nike) from Samothrace...pretty cool.
View of Paris from top floor of the Louvre, some Napoleonic arch lower left, Eiffel Tower, and in the far distance on the right you can see the Arc de Triomphe...the walk from one arch to the other takes you through the Tuileries and up the Champs Elysee.
Oh so fancy toilet in the place where we ate lunch...can't be afraid to squat if you need to...thanks for the foot pedals guys, wouldn't want to fall in.
Me trying to be Cartier-Bresson taking a picture of a guy in the Musee D'Orsay...
Face in a bowl in the Musee D'Orsay...
Statues in the D'Orsay...
Ceiling of the Musee D'Orsay...it used to be the train station for the Paris-Orleans line...impressive building, bigger than Grand Central.
Andrea toward the end of our tour, beginning to get grumpy...
Obligatory "Paris is for Lovers" shot...

Pix from today...
Today we started out in the Marais (Jewish neighborhood), with yummy middle eastern food (with a touch of Brooklyn: rye bread and pastrami on the menu, along with humus, etc.) Walked by the Pompidou and the Louvre (will actually go into it later in the week) then checked out the Arc de Triomphe. Stopped by the Hotel Rafael for a drink (18 Euros for a bourbon on the rocks!!!) and cabbed it home.
We are bushed, the day began with an adventure with a locksmith, but quickly got back on track.
I love this picture below: Andrea looks totally hot, and that's my beer the dude is cracking open...this is the life.
Dusty wine bottles, what's more French? This is in the middle eastern restaurant (as above) on my right elbow while sitting at the table.

Andrea and I took a major power nap, then went out and wandered around the neighborhood around Jer's place. Walked by the Place des Vosges, then stopped and had a couple drinks, then had sandiwches Grecque (sp?) with harissa and mayo. So good. I feel too lucky...

Bronwen and the Trev Dawg...
Yesterday I went by Jer's brother's apartment to pic up the keys for the apartment in Paris and figured since I was downtown that I'd call up Bronwen to grab a drink. So I met up with Bronwen at Daddy-O's (one of my fave bars on this whole island), then Trevor met up with us, and we walked down to Soho where he was playing a gig with his buddy. Andrea came down and met up with us too. It was the first time we had met Trevor. He's cool.
